Apollo Justice filed in Japan

On March 15, 2022, Capcom revealed that it had filed a trademark Apollo Justice in Japan on March 7, 2022. What is notable about this brand is that it uses the localized naming convention instead of the franchise’s Japanese name, Gyakuten Saiban. While unconfirmed, it seems likely that Capcom is gearing up to port Apollo Justice to modern platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 since this entry is currently only available on DS, 3DS and mobile. With the 3DS eShop closing soon, it makes sense to make this title available on modern platforms.

Apollo Justice occurs after the original trilogy which starred Phoenix Wright and is arguably the darkest part of the series. Still, it’s one of my favorite entries, and I hope to see a new generation of gamers interact with it. With a bit of luck, Double destinies, spirit of righteousnessand the Investigations duology will receive similar treatment.

If you missed it, be sure to check out our review of The chronicles of the great ace lawyerbecause it’s one of the few 10s we’ve ever delivered.

The chronicles of the great ace lawyer has players take on the role of Ryunosuke Naruhodo, an aspiring Japanese lawyer. This character is supposed to be an ancestor of Phoenix Wright and will have to solve 10 cases at the end of the 19th century during the Meiji period in Japan and the Victorian era in England. However, he has the help of his legal aide Susato Mikatoba and legendary detective Herlock Sholmes.

The title is available on PlayStation 4, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.
