Nintendo adds infamous tug of war game to Mario Party superstars and fans are not happy

One of Mario Party’s most infamous mini-games returns for the final game in the series, and fans aren’t too excited to see it return.

Mario Party games always include a variety of mini-games in which players can compete against each other. But, the latest installment in the series will bring back one that not many people are happy to see.

What kind of mini-game could provoke such a reaction? None other than the classic “Tug o ‘War” from the very first Nintendo 64 title.

Tug o ‘War returns to Mario Party

Anyone who has played Mario Party on the N64 will probably remember this game. It is widely regarded as one of the worst of all. For Tug o ‘War, you had to spin the joystick as fast as possible to win.

This has led to cases of controller breaking and injuries while playing. Nintendo even agreed to provide players with protective gloves in 2000, as they received numerous reports of injured children.

Now the infamous minigame returns for the next title in the series, Mario Party Superstars, and many players aren’t too thrilled.

“Are they bringing back the original controls for this game, just with a palm warning?” Twitter user @KirbyCheatFurby posted. “Don’t add the game ???? Please?”

Others have even accused Nintendo of knowing the effect the game had on N64 controllers at the time. Despite this, they still brought him back.

“Brother, they knew how easy it is to break the handle of a joycon and they saw a business opportunity with mario party so ppl buy more sick f *** s, ”HARTHUR said on Twitter of the game’s return.

Mario Party Superstars released on 29 october, and if you’re planning on playing from day one, it might be a good idea to use a controller that you don’t really like. Gloves might not be a bad idea either.
