Nintendo unveils its 2nd official store in Osaka before the opening on November 11

Nintendo Co. unveiled its second official store in Osaka on Thursday ahead of its Friday opening, offering more than 2,000 items of iconic gaming-themed merchandise across an 800-square-meter area in a large store.

Directly operated by the company, Nintendo OSAKA is located on the 13th floor of Daimaru Department Store in Umeda’s main shopping district and is the second official store after its Tokyo store opened in 2019.

The company has invited members of the media and customers selected by lottery to the store where visitors can play Super Mario, Splatoon and other games and purchase original merchandise not offered elsewhere.

“We want to increase communication with our customers” through official stores, said Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.

Kaori Sugimoto, a 35-year-old Osaka resident chosen to visit the new store on pre-opening day, said, “I’m so glad they opened a store in Osaka. It’s amazing that they have so many colorful stuffed animals. “

Capcom Co., another video game company, will also open an official outlet on the same floor of the Osaka department store on Friday.
