This weekly series compares the aligned launch sales of the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.

It should be noted that the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X | S had a global launch, while the PlayStation 5 launch was split into two weeks. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017, while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launched during the holidays in November 2020.

In the first 100 weeks available worldwide, Nintendo Switch outpaces PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Switch is ahead of the PS5 by 6.39 million units and 13.21 million units ahead of the Xbox Series X|S. The PS5 leads the Xbox Series X|S by 6.82 million units.

The Switch sold 30.60 million in 100 weeks worldwide, while the PS5 sold 24.21 million units and the Xbox Series X|S sold 17.39 million units.

Looking at 100-week market share, the Switch leads the way. The Switch has a market share of 42.4%, the PS5 sits at 33.5% and the Xbox Series X|S at 24.1%.

PS5 vs. Xbox Series X|S Vs. Change US:

In the first 100 weeks available in the US, Nintendo Switch outpaces PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Switch is ahead of the PS5 by 1.99 million units and 2.65 million units ahead of the Xbox Series X|S. The PS5 leads the Xbox Series X|S by 0.66 million units.

The Switch sold 10.77 million in 100 weeks in the US, while the PS5 sold 8.78 million units and the Xbox Series X|S sold 8.13 million units .

Looking at 100-week market share, the Switch is currently in the lead. The Switch has a market share of 38.9%, the PS5 sits at 31.7% and the Xbox Series X|S at 29.4%.

PS5 vs. Xbox Series X|S Vs. Change Europe (99 weeks):

The PlayStation 5 has been available for a week less than the Xbox Series X|S in Europe. After 99 weeks, PS5 is ahead of Switch by 0.60 million units and 3.57 million units ahead of Xbox Series X|S. The Switch leads the Xbox Series X|S by 2.97 million units.

The PS5 sold 8.34 million in 99 weeks in Europe, while the Switch sold 7.74 million units and the Xbox Series X|S sold 4.78 million units.

Looking at 99-week market share, the PlayStation 5 is currently in the lead. The PS5 has a market share of 40.0%, the Switch sits at 37.1% and the Xbox Series X|S at 22.9%.

In the first 100 weeks available in Japan, the Switch is well ahead of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Switch is ahead of the PS5 by 5.30 million units and 6.92 million units ahead of the Xbox Series X|S. The PS5 leads the Xbox Series X|S by 1.62 million units.

The Switch sold 7.29 million units in 100 weeks in Japan, while the PS5 sold 1.98 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S sold 0.37 million units.

Looking at 100-week market share, the Switch is currently in the lead. The Switch has a market share of 75.6%, the PS5 sits at 20.6% and the Xbox Series X|S at 3.8%.
