Sega Releases New Sonic Origins Gameplay Footage, Coming to Switch in June

Sound origins is accelerating to the Nintendo Switch next month, and if you’re eager to see more footage from blue blur’s new 4-in-1 collection, you’ve come to the right place.

Sega shared new footage of the game during the Rulicon online broadcast in South Korea last weekend. It introduces the game menu, anniversary mode and gives fans a glimpse of the original sonic the hedgehog game, you can also see some more with Knuckles, Tails, and Super Sonic.

The fan and news site Tails Channel also shared some additional details (via social media) – noting that there’s a dedicated button for Super Forms, a “new Blue Sphere Mode” and that the Drop Dash move is exclusive to the game’s Anniversary Mode.

And in case you were wondering, there are currently “no plans” yet for a physical edition release, but Sega has been notified of the request. So for now, you’ll just have to opt for the digital copy via the Switch eShop (or other digital platforms) if you want to play this collection when it arrives on June 23.

Sonic Origins will include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. There will be all sorts of extra content for returning fans and even some extra goodies.
